PLAYING STYLE

Messi has been compared to compatriot Diego Maradona, because of their similar style of play and dignity,,which gives it a lower center of gravity than most of the players, which enables it to be more agile and quicker to change direction, helping him avoid tackles. His short, strong legs allow him to excel in short bursts of acceleration, and his quick feet allow him to keep control of the ball while dribbling at speed. His former FC Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola, once said: "Messi is the only player who runs the ball more quickly than he does without it." Before him like Maradona, Messi is predominantly left-footed player.Outside of his left foot, it usually starts dribbling runs, although he uses the inside of his mouth, and to finish wears off and help the team mates.

Messi often committed by individual dribbling runs towards goal, especially during the attacks usually from the halfway line or the right of the pitch, although he has also been described as a versatile team player with good vision, known for his passing and his creative combinations, especially Barcelona team mates Xavi and Iniesta. In addition, he is the exact set-piece and penalty kick taker.Of his dribbling ability, Maradona said Messi "Ball is glued to his foot, I've seen great players in his career, but I've never seen anyone Messi's ball control."Maradona has said that he believes that Messi is the greatest player in the world right now.
Tactically, Messi plays a free attacking role and sometimes a playmaker, known for its finishing, pace, dribbling, balance, positioning, vision and passing ability. It is comfortable to attack on the wings or through the middle. He began his career as a left winger and forward, but was later moved to the right wing by former manager Frank Rijkaard, who noted that from this position, Messi could cut through the defense in the middle of the field more easily, allowing him to curl shots on goal with his left foot, rather than primarily through balls to his teammates. [248] He most recently played in a false nine role under Guardiola. This role is characterized by the trend seems to play Messi as center forward or as a striker, but he will often run back in positions drawing defenders with him, creating space for wingers, other attackers and midfielders for short, allowing it to provide help or give him space to start dribbling runs, score goals or create attacking pieces. With the Argentine national team, Messi usually play anywhere along the front line. He started as a striker or winger, but also played a deeper role, particularly in the context Maradona, plus a midfielder and playmaker role.Messi revealed he is a fan of former Argentine playmaker Pablo Aimar.
